Default stalling problem need help

i have a 94 civic that had a 1.6 vtec motor in it i put a 1.5 non-vtec motor in it i put the correct ecu and swapped over the wiring harness and intake manifold, alternator, thermostat and small little things. im now having a problem with the vehicle stalling when coasting in neutral. i will be in gear, hit a hill and put it in neutral and it will stall cause me to need to put it back in gear and let out the clutch to get it back to running. i also have a check engine light that will not go off. i got the motor from jdm engine depot, it out of a 96-00 civic. i would like to get this vehicle in great running condition since the motor has less than 65k. all reviews and opinions are welcome and appreciated as i am in a bind. let me know what procedure or task weather its simple or very complicated.

thanks,
Rich

Default

i actually figured it out. the timing was off and the reason i found out was because this morning when i went out to start my car it would not hold an idle. after messing with the timing and the throttle response the car drove amazing and i have not had a problem.
