Default Will a VTec K20A fit in my 2000 Civic DX?

I've got a 2000 Civic DX 5 speed with a 1.4L and obviously it's just not enough. I was thinking about throwing in a K20A or an H22A. Not sure which would be a better idea. Any suggestions? Will I have to replace my transmission with either engine? Help much appreciated.

If a Honda Fit can take in a k-2 engine, the Civic I beleive has more room. 00 civic has a 1.6 the k-2 has a bigger trans. You would need to put in a stronger suspension. best you get a doner car with the k-2 front clip and then mod it to install into the 00 civic. also the ecm has to be modded. If you go to the k-2 honda sites in google, you may see how the Fit was modded with the 600 hp k-2. In Arizona the mod was done.
