hey guys, i don't know anything about cars but i'm broke so i need to start learning.
i have a 95 accord wagon (automatic) and i know nothing about it. it has 130 k on it and the maintenance light just went on. my problems are overheating if im stopped for too long (i just turn the heat on when it does it and add some antifreeze) but what should i check? i didnt see any leaks and was told maybe a thermostat or something? i dont know

my transmission feels weird too, it struggles between gears a little bit. could draining it help with that?

any advice at all will be very helpful as i am basically lost. i love the car though
