brake fluid life

Can anyone say what the useful life of an unopened can of DOT 3 brake fluid is? My Civic is coming due for a brake fluid change.

i have not seen and expired shelf life on brake fluid, but if its older than 3 years I would just get some new fluid.

Thanks. I just purchased 4 containers of genuine Honda DOT 3 brake fluid from Bernardi -- to rest assured that the brake system would have the freshest fluid available.
