So I'm 18 and I'm planning on getting my first car cause I work and go to school and I need an reliable transportation and the car I'm particularly interested in is an 2002 Honda Accord Lx 4cyl with 62k so the place that has it for sale wants 1200 ( my range for a down payment) and it's whole price 5995 which is pretty high so I'm wondering would this be a decent deal for me and what's some future plans if I do buy it what should I consider as of trying to get my value back

 

welcome to the forum, a 02 lx retail good condition (clean) with 143k will go for approx 3,475, 2dr coupe. a dealer has to make a profit for the shop and sales person so they have to add a couple of k's to make a profit. if it is a honda dealer, then the car is in good condition and cared for well. if it is a private sale, price is too high. when you add tax, lic, etc now its 7k. (expensive) if you still want to buy it, get your money ready for purchase, bank, cash, credit card, what ever and offer 4500 out the door, if they want to sell it, you'll get it for 4500, if they say no we cant go that low, walk out they may stop you on the way out the door, don't look back, keep going, look for another one, 7000k for a 15 yr old car is too much money, any questions email me acmech52@yahoo,com
