Default Help concerning honda insight

Hello everyone , so i have been planning to buy a second hand Honda Insight Hybrid from an individual. The year of the car is 2010. Friends have been telling me not to buy the car as the hybrid battery might fail at some point and it's highly expensive to replace it whereas others are telling me that it's quite rare to come across a failing hybrid battery.. I am confused. The car is in a good condition and personally i loved it but i'm being reluctant to buy it. What should i do? Kindly advise

Starla CR V, I just joined this Forum. I own a 2016 CRV AWD Touring. My wife's car really. My ride is a new 2022 Acura MDX Advance. The CRV is a very serviceable & practical CUV which Honda has been in the Forefront for this category for more than 10 years.
Congrats on your new 2022 CRV Hybrid Touring !!! We were toying with trading ours in for the same vehicle. I test drove it and found the extra HP and Torque very welcoming. Better MPGs make this an absolute NO-BRAINER. We re-evaluated our position, and so we passed at this point. Maybe next year. We only have 39K miles on the CRV. So once we passed on a new one, I purchased new Goodyear Tires (Ascents). Noticeable differences over the Dunlops OEMs. More quiet on the road, smoother too, but a just a little less handling ability. My wife won't notice that, but I'm ****, I do.
Regarding your comments about EVs. I think you did the RIGHT THING !!. Recently, as a retiree (we both are), I have lots of time on my hands (love it !!), so I Surf the Web about various things. And Blog accordingly. EVs being one of them. A startling factoid I heard from an electromagnetic engineer is the affects to your Health sitting in a EV !!. According to him, the amount of EM waves will pass through your body. You are sitting a Huge Lithium Battery for hours each day and he particulalry stated that You Should Never Sit in the EV while it is Plugged in and charging !! Makes Common Sense to me, in that we are all already exposed to Microwaves, Whole House WiFi, Cell Phones and now This. Moreover, what people don't understand in their eagerness to "Save The Planet" from the burning of fossil fuels that affect "climate change" , is that it takes immense amounts of generating the electricity for EVs. Although he didn't mention the late fall disaster in Virginia regarding all those drivers stuck on I-95 for 24 Hours in the freezing Cold. Imagine sitting in your EV watching the battery drain rapidly to supply the heat in the car... Yes, gas powered cars would face the same issue.... running out of gas, but they wouldn't be sitting on top of that Battery for 24 Hours. That's one reason why I always advise my Family members: When you hit 1/2 tank of gas, Fill 'er Up. You just Don't Know what could happen when you commute and travel about.
Well, sorry for rambling. IMHO, I think the quality Hybrids : Honda ,Toyota (of course the leader), Hyundai and many others is the Way To Go Now.
Happy Motoring and Good Luck with your new CRV.
