Transmission overdrive (sport mode)

Default Transmission overdrive (sport mode)
91 accord automatic, for no reason my sport light comes on and car downshifts out of overdrive and stays in drive even when I stop and take back off, sometimes shifts back and sometimes not.1st start driving it shifts in and out of overdrive continiously until it locks in in one way or the other.Anyone have any ideas what causes that?
