i have a 91 civic si. we took apart the transmission and this small cylinder shaped thing fell out. im curious as if it fell out of the detent area of the shift fork? help!

 

first off what kind of motor and tranny is it?? second i would take it to a transmission shop if they are good they can tell you what it is and where it came from.

try this site, hondaautomotiveparts.com and put in your car info, go to the various trans parts diagram see if you might find your part. There are too many parts that sound like your cylinder. Also sign up at Autozone.com and go to repairs, it will show you a breakdown and how to, to repair the trans. Parts diagram is good.
