1998 BF40A engine runs counterclockwise and I need a impeller housing
So I have a 1998 BF40A and as I understand the majority of these motors run "clockwise" and are indicated as so o fge flywheel and as you watch the flywheel spin as it is running.
However, my motor is one of the few that run "counterclockwise" and I know that might sound crazy but i am certain of it. That being said, every impeller housing that I can locate will only pump water when you spin the impeller shaft clockwise. I have tested this with the lower unit removed and spinning the shaft with a drill and make shift adapter. When you spin the shaft counterclockwise (just like the motor runs) it will not pump water as the impeller housing and kit isnt designed to work when spun counterclockwise.
I am hoping someone is familiar with this specific motor and can guide me in a direction so i can buy the correct impeller housing that will work for this motor.
Thanks everyone
