I just installed a new raw water pump impeller on my 2006 9.9 engine and it doesn't **** out any water after running a minute or so. Any ideas out there in Honda clamp-on land? There are other problems to address once this is sorted out.

Are you running it on muffs, or in a test tank? With low water pressure, the muffs might not be pushing enough water. Sometimes the outlet on the tell tale can become blocked by debris or salt crystals. I use a bit of weed whacker string to gently ream it out to get the water flowing. There is also the possibility that the impeller wheel was installed with the fins pointing the wrong direction...

 

All fixed now. I didn't have the upper and lower unit tubes lined up. I put a skinny white coat hanger with the bottom end bent over to prevent it from getting in the impeller housing and had a pal guide it in while I handled the gearcase. I left the skinny coat hanger in. No problem.
BTW, I had it in a 100 gallon water tank.
