Recently bought the above. It sat for 17 years, but ran when put away.. It has 3000 miles on it. It will only idle when the choke is on. If I back off on the choke it will stop. or if I try to use the throttle it will stop.
I have done the following to get to this point.
removed and clean the gas tank. replaced the battery, fuel filter and fuel pump relay. tested the fuel pump ( it works)
I have not removed the carbs and was hoping I don't have to. I have used Barrymans B12 chemtool in gas ( no Help). I did spray carb cleaner air intake and I could use the throttle and the engine ran only when I kept spraying the cleaner.
Any help or answers would be appreciated

Thanks for the help. I did end up rebuilding the carbs. The engine now runs fine. However my next problem is the slave clutch.
I remove the slave clutch. It was frozen and gunk up. I cleaned replace seals and spring and it seems to be fine. I reinstalled bled line, but know matter how much I bleed I cannot get any pressure with the clutch lever. I can shift gears without using the clutch. What am I doing wrong???
