2.2L 4spd Auto
210K just replaced Time Belt, Water pump, thermostat and cylinder head and head gasket.
still struggling climbing hills of any REAL incline or pitch, and then feels as if it’s getting heavier the higher I Go, and starts to Drag on RPMs + Speed. But my throttles stayed at the same pressure.
what else should I be looking at for in terms to initially make it a less stressed drive going 45min trips 3x a day
I have replaced the fuel filter. But I must be transparent this vehicle is my first experience with mechanical work. So I don’t know how to begin the process for fuel pressure tuning or boosting. I’ll I know is the basic fluid, brakes, and electrical (somewhat)
1. Relieve fuel pressure.
2. Remove the Service Bolt on the Fuel Rail while holding the Banjo Bolt with another wrench. Attach the Special Tool.
3. Start the Engine. (If the Engine will not start, turn the Ignition Switch on, wait for two seconds, turn it off, then back on again and read the Fuel Pressure). Measure the fuel pressure with the Engine idling and the Vacuum Hose of the Fuel Pressure Regulator disconnected from the Fuel Pressure Regulator and pinched.
Pressure should be: 265-314 kPa (2.7-3.2 kgf/cm2, 38-46 psi)
4. Reconnect Vacuum Hose to the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
Pressure should be: 206-255 kPa (2.1-2.6 kgf/cm2, 30-37 psi)
If the fuel pressure is not as specified, first check the Fuel Pump. If the Fuel Pump is OK, check the following:
- If the fuel pressure is higher than specified, inspect for:
Pinched or clogged Fuel Return Hose or Line.
Faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator.
- If the fuel pressure is lower than specified, inspect for:
Clogged Fuel Filter.
Faulty Fuel Pressure Regulator.
Leakage in the Fuel Line.
