can you dip head assembly in flux and see cracks in head?

 

welcome to the forum. I do not believe the head is dipped into the flux, it is placed between two poles +/- and metal powder is brushed on the head, and when there is a crack, the metal powder collects to show up with a black light. . or a dye penetrant is used.
