Default Car not wanting to start

In late Sept. I went to start my car. At first it wouldn't start. Had to turn the key 2-3 times then finally it started. Later that day. I went to start my car and it wouldn't. After like the 3rd time I started to see smoke coming from under the hood. Someone had came and looked at it and had me start it up and they said it was the alternator. I haven't started my car since late Sept and I went to try and start it up and it's trying to kick on but something is like keeping it to. I need help!!

welcome to the forum, need a bit of info, milage of car, have you had your timing belt changed? Have you cleaned your battery terminals lately? have the battery fully charged before you try to restart the engine. When was the last time you had a tune up or any type of work done on the car? If urgent, email me acmech52@yahoo.com

Am I suppose to replace the water pump when I replace the timing belt? Or can I wait and do the water pump later?

if and when you replace the timing belt, the water pump, the cam seal and the crank seal should all be done at the same time. all these parts are exposed., with the timing belt.labor isnot much more, the parts arecost more, done this way, you will not have to pay again when the pump fails/leaks.

It is recommended that you change the timing belt and the water pump and if your car has a balancer belt at the same time. If you take it to a Honda dealership, they should have the pricing set up for everything that you need to get the service done. The other thing is to check on the drive belts, valve cover gaskets(tube seals, grommets), and cam, crank, balancer seals.
