Civic 7gen vs Corolla (E12) - Suspension upgrade> for comfort?
I'm facing a dilemma, trying to make up my mind between the following - Civic 7gen [04-05y] vs Corolla (E12) 2005-06y. May be hatch 5-doors - V-TEC / VVTi.
-1.4 or 1.6i?
Criteria:
1. Comfort/cargo space / Drive (Suspensions) - Anyone has experience with the two models - which one is more solid and heavier? (I have little experience with Corolla but I liked it)
2. fuel economy / city / highway / - I found out that Corolla consumes + 1l / 100km
3. Maintenance, tune-up, parts
4. extras. (I hear Civic feels roomier)
I learned that Civic is: twist-beam rear suspension => more stability (against the Corolla)?
But is Ground Clearance = 150mm real - on the outside it looks much lower than Corolla with 150mm clearence (and the Corolla is really)
My main concern is the suspensions, which is with the old generations and 8th gen.
Could it be softer with replacement of the running gear to improve? If it's comparable to Corolla would be great.
