Default CRV 1.5T Good or bad choice?

Hi all

I am new to this group. I am looking to buy a used CRV (2020 and not sure which engine to go for. I know that the early 1.5T had issues with oil dilution which i believe Honda have dealt with using a few adjustments. I live in Santiago,Chile so the climate is warm/hot for about 6-8 months and even in winter it rarely gets below 3 degrees Celcius. Although i would prefer the 1.5T for better MPG i am concerned about the oil dilution issue. Can anyone tell me if they have had trouble free 1.5T's and if the Honda fix has really worked.

Thanks

Default Oil Dilution still a problem!

I have a 2024 CRV 1.5 Turbo. I checked the oil upon receipt of the car and it was at full exactly. 6 months later checked it and it was above full- called Honda and they would not do oil change as part of their free maintenance as it was not due. Off the record I was told to change the oil if I was going to keep the car long term. Changed the oil and added until exactly full. 5 months later it is at the end of the orange portion of the dipstick. Less that 10,000 miles on it at this point. Next oil change will be done by Honda as part of the 2 yr free maintenance.
I would say that the issue is not resolved unless Honda has invented an oil generator within their engine.

Thanks for that feedback, I feel the same that this problem is not as easily solved as Honda have made out. I also saw a you tube video where a guy had a similar experience to yours. I think i will give the 1.5T a miss.
