Default Hi everybody

Hello everyone! I have a 98 Honda Civic with 120K miles that I'm looking to keep in good running condition. So I just thought I'd join this forum and look around for some self-maintenance tips and procedures. I'm looking to do a bunch of phase 0 stuff first, since I've been slacking on that, and then pick up some performance guidance. Right now I have a 2.25" catback, and and AEM cold air intake. Take care and I look forward to becoming a part of this community!

hello there, I'm pretty new too. How do you like your cold air intake? My friend was telling me not to get one ... something about getting a "fenderwall intake" instead, i think. He was probably just pulling my leg or something. Anyone know anything of a "fenderwall intake"?

And also we Thank You for joining up with us also..I would think that a fenderwell intake would suck up a lot of water on a rainy or snowy day.....Not a Good Idea!

Scorpio7

This is a better idea!

Aloha Panamakid, welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay. Self Maintenance, first get your self a service or maintenance manual, it will help you a lot, Then you can change your own oil, filter, airfilter service, trans service, etc. May need to purchase some jacks and stands to crawl under your civic. Mobil 2 oil is good to use, You can pick up at most auto parts house or wallmart.

Thanks, Scorpio7.

And acmech52: I just began working at walmart in the last couple weeks! :-) Hooray for discount (10% on all non-food and non-clearance items)! I don't know how that's relevant to the forum, but whatever. For the record, I actually think wal-mart is a really good place to work as a teenager. The only problem is they only allow minors to work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week ... yes, even during the summer. But hey, I will have more time to work on my new car and hang out with friends, right? :-)

Hey be proud you got a job, discount, you can buy some car parts, you can work long enough to be promoted to full time or a manager. I have a few friends who started as stock clerks, to cashier to floor mgrs. They like the work hours and benefits. Again its a job and you get paid (Kala) in hawaiian It will get you use to taking orders from others and you will learn self decipline. Keep a good work profile, you will get a good reference if you go to a better job.
