Default New car, new problems. Help!

I just bought a 1997 civic hx with 130k miles. After driving the car for about two days the engine died. The first time this happened was right after starting it, but then it happened in traffic. Its as if I turned the key back and killed the engine. I thought the alarm might be the problem, so I took out the alarm. Tonight it was dark, and I noticed that the dash lights were surging after it died in traffic. I tried to restart it while it was rolling and it would start then die as if the computer wasn't letting it run for more than a second. Im afraid it might be the computer, or a short, or a complication from the alarm wiring but it definately seems like an electrical problem.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

welcome to the forum. Check your battery, do a load test. check to see if your alternator is charging good, check all the distributor components( ignitor/coil), and spark plugs and wires. make sure you have good fuel feed.
