Default New guy needing info

Hello everyone, Im here because my girl drives a 97 Acura CL 2.2 automatic. Well it has nearly 180k on it and the trans is near death, the engine is taking oil, its painfully slow, and is a gas guzzler of a little car. I never liked that engine, so I would like to swap it with something better.

First of all it has to stay as an automatic..boo. And second I was wanting to find the most compatible Bseries engine to go in it. She will not part with the car, shes had it for a while and fallin in love with the thing.

So what I am here to learn is what is the most conservative route to go with this kind of a swap? And I know it kinda aint worth it with an automatic, but thats what she wants and Im the one stuck with it. I am not new to swaps, I built/own a 93 s10 with a 4.8L v8 and a 98 s10 with a 5.7L ls1 v8. I am VERY new to Honda/Acura and all the random engines, sizes, and numbers and letters. So if anyone can help point me in a good direction. I would like to make the car a little faster than it is with the slug 2.2L, and her still be able to trust it as a daily driver. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
