Default new to honda forum from ATL.

I have 2000 civic si stock with 160,000 miles. Still runs strong and still great gas mileage. Just recently gave it the first actual tune-up. (plugs, dist. cap, button, and coil.) Wires read same ohms as new ones.

In process of trying to get cel off. Came on after tune-up. Self test said o2 or cat. Changed upstream and reset. Went 40 miles and came back on. Bought second universal o2 and that's my project today.

just a heads up on universal/after market o2 sensors, they appear to look the same and made by the same co. that Honda buys from, but always seem to go out with in a 2 days to 4 mos period. I have not seen many that will last a long time ( aftermarket) to date.

Default thanks acmech52

Didn't get to replace o2 due to rain. I think i will take it back. Starting to think I need new cat. converter. Read codes yesterday and it came back 67. If i need another o2, will a direct fit from advance auto be ok or do I need to go to honda dealer? Thanks again. emission test coming up soon...

welcome to the forums.. here is a self test to test your cat... you will need a thermometer that can read high temps.. temp the pipe before the cat and write it down.. then temp the pipe after the cat write that down.. the pipe after the cat should be at least 10% hotter for a properly functioning cat. converter
