Welcome aboard, we're always glad to have another DIYer here on forums. Make sure to show us your Honda, when you can - this way it will be much easier for us to provide you with helpful information.

Hello -- I'm a new member. Have owned Hondas for 25 years and I love them. Now I have a 2016 HRV (about 12,000 miles now). No problems so far except -- after 12 months, the passenger door suddenly chimes every time it opens. It started doing this last week, after a friend of mine drove it a few miles. I called Honda tech, and they said that it probably has something to do with the AUXILIARY mode of the ignition (keyless -- you press the brake and push the button to start car) Honda tech said my friend may have tried turning it on while not pressing the brake, putting it into first auxiliary mode, causing the chime. She said I need to turn off AUX mode. This made sense -- I tried turning off AUX mode by putting it in "first" AUX mode (pressing ignition button with no foot on brake); "second" AUX mode (pressing it again with no foot on brake) and final mode, which should have turned AUX mode off. I tried this -- and --- still the obnoxious chiming sound from door. I think the AUX mode theory makes sense, but apparently I can't turn it off. Any suggestions?
