Smile New Memeber

Hey Y'all,
My name is Shawn, I'm a new member I recently started working as a Honda Salesman and fell in love with Hondas. Any tip or anything like niche information would be gladly appreciated. I am so excited to have found this forum to learn and explore the new community.

Interesting. What type of Honda’s do you sell? What territory are you in?
What are your expectations for expanding your knowledge base?

Inquiring minds don’t you know.

I am in Alabama and I just started working at a Honda car dealership about a month ago. I haven’t gotten any deeper than the basic cars yet but I have started gaining interest into the Type R and Si. For what I want to learn; I especially want to try to get any tips or personal experiences from owners. I have learned a lot from Honda itself but I think owners and loyal Honda owners have so much more knowledge and experience that Honda doesn’t teach or even understand. If I have someone buying a new Honda I want them to truly understand the beauty and reliability they are getting.

Welcome and congrats on going the extra mile. One thing I'd suggest is get to know the service advisers and figure out which is "the one". Then introduce and direct your customers to that one if that's allowed. The dealer I previously bought from has one guy and any time I went in I made sure to see him. He stayed on top of things and made certain things were done right. Good luck in your learning.

Thank you so much! I will definitely work on getting that service contact. I know we just overhauled our service departments due to some issues that were happening.

2025 CRV-EX-L, Meteor Gray, black interior. Traded our 2006 Honda Civic (bought new in November 2005) with 57,000 miles. REALLY like the CRV. Don't like the idle stop feature but will live with it.

You could have, should have, did not start your own thread but that is not important.

Did Honda eliminate the turn off the stop/start button for MY’25?

There is also a highly rated aftermarket bypass unit that is plug and play. (might not work on a ‘25)

Anyway I’m sure Shawn (the new kid author) will welcome you to the forum and use his product knowledge to enlighten you about the Start/Stop feature.

Happy Motoring
