Default Second Attempt: Door Lock Problem

I have a 2013 Honda Pilot
Last week when I double clicked the key fob, I heard the door locks engage but the horn didn’t beep to tell me it was armed
I checked the driver’s door and it was locked so I went on my way

When I returned to the car and drove off, I noticed the automatic door lock engage per usual, but then, throughout the drive, it kept engaging the auto lock, like the button to lock the already locked doors was being pressed. I realized that the front passenger door lock was not locked but all other locks were locked.

i can manually lock and unlock the front passenger lock, but the electric lock switch and fob have no affect on locking or unlocking that door. Whatever manual position it is in is where it stays.

i removed fuse 29 in the driver fuse box bc that was indicated to be the door lock fuse. It was not blown and I returned it.

strangely, the next day, the problem remedied itself and all was well. Until this afternoon. When the same front passenger door lock no longer responds to the electric buttons or key fob.

Someone had suggested a problem like this on their driver door on their odyssey and, after replacing the actuator in that door, still had the problem. Later he was told it was the multiplex control system. What does this sound like and why would it be intermittent? Thanks in advance.

Check the wiring in the loom of the drivers door.

When the door lock opens on its own, the door lock actuators are usually faulty.
But, you situation is not the same. Your switch does not lock or unlock the door.
This would point to an electrical problem with the lock.
And, it requires a little knowledge of how to troubleshoot a circuit.
Take the door panel off and check to see if the switch is getting 12 volts.
Check for a good ground. Usually one or both are missing.
It would indicate a broken wire.
The likely suspect would be the wire inside the rubber loom between the door and the body of the vehicle.
That is where the wire flexes the most and may break there.

Your eyes don;t work? Open the loom and look at the wires.

That is fine if the wires are clearly broken. However, breaks can be elusive
And sometimes one must use a meter to check the wire's integrity.

new symptom this morning: the lift gate will only open with the fob or interior switch, but I can't get it to open manually with my hand on the sensor pad on the handle when the doors are unlocked. Does that change your thoughts on what the problem is, or could a faulty wire in the front passenger door loom still cause this? Thank you so much.
