Exclamation so i need a little help

i've got a 1999 acura integra non v-tech...its been down for about 2
years because i haven't been able to figure out whats wrong with it....i water locked the motor (sucked water through the intake) and blew the motor i got a new motor and had a friend install it but it never worked...i was low on cash so couldn't do much with it at the time but now that its summer and the money flow is a lot better me and my boyfriend have looked into it. he realized that the plugs were in the wrong order fixed them and now it starts....the only problem now is that when you turn the car on it sits in a really low idle and acts as though it wants to die...when you try to take off in first it just doesnt want to go at all and starts to sputter....I'm getting new plugs tomorrow as the ones that are in there now i think came from the blown motor any body have any clue on what might be going on? or have any other suggestions??

welcome to the forum. check your throttle position sensor, check to see if you have proper fuel pressure, check the timing. The engine you replaced-- is it the same identical type that came out of the car. ?
