to swap or not to swap

Default to swap or not to swap

i have a 96 civic ex with the d16y8. what would best way to spend my money? get a b16/b18 swap or just do some internal work to the motor i already have such as new valves, valve springs, pistons, cams, etc?

[align=center]I bought my '98 and my immediate obvious answer was to switch to a B18.
Then again I believe a Y8 is the VTEC model?
Anyway, it generally costs less to modify your current engine, but if you have the money I always say swap to a B.
May just be me, as I had a Y7, non-VTEC.
