Weak HVAC Air Flow 12' Civic
Hey everyone I'm new to the forum, so if this isn't the right place to post this please correct me.
I have a 2012 civic lx sedan i recently bought. The previous owner was selling it due to AC not working. I found out the compressor had blown up internally and repaired the whole system. The AC and heat work great, but I notice this car doesn't have the greatest air flow from the vents.
I did all the diagnostics that I could come up with without dealer tools and such. I took the blower motor out and inspected it. No bearing play or damage/debris. Pretty much looked brand new. I then jumped the terminals to a full 12V and it worked really well (almost jumped out of my hand). I also checked for 12V with a test light on the connector to make sure there wasn't any wiring issue. Cabin air filter was not clogged and even tried working the blower without a filter, and air flow did not change.
I also checked all the doors for proper operation and they all worked smooth with no binding or odd sounds. The air flow does not change with different modes selected. And when you have both dash and floor selected it just barely comes out of either vent.
Any idea on what else it could be? I swear my 2005 Ford I had before this was much better as far as HVAC goes. Are these cars just not very good as far as HVAC quality?
