Default Whining noise .... tans problem?

Hi,
I drive a 2012 CRV with 120,000 miles. While cruising at a constant speed there is a noticable whine when my foot is on the gas. The whine stops when I lift my foot off the gas and returns when I press back down. The trans acts normally otherwise. Is this something to worry about?
I can live with it if it's not a serious trans problem.
Thanks for your help.

What makes you think it's coming from the trans? Sounds like a bearing noise under load but we need to narrow down from where.

Thanks for the idea. I'll check the front bearings if this Maine winter ever ends!
