Hello. I have an 03 Odyssey and the ac started whining a bit about 2 years ago. I didn't get around to having it checked before it just stopped working all together last August. About 45 minutes before it went out, I started to get that hot break/clutch smell, so I suspect that the AC clutch went out. My question is how can I test the compressor to make sure that it is ok, before I drop $175 on a new clutch? I'm assuming that a bad compressor won't rotate and a good one would (AC was ice cold prior to not working), so I'm thinking that I could put a clutch wrench on the compressor to see if i can get it to turn. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
