Easy Sliding Door Latch Actuator Fix for Power Doors That Pop and Stick
I just thought I would post a thread on this forum on how to fix a pesky problem with the power sliding doors on the Honda Odyssey's. This problem is where the sliding door will pop when activated and not open or close. There is not much info out there and when I visited multiple dealerships they all wanted to charge me to lube and adjust the the latches and tracks. This fix is not the solution and is a waste of $50 to $100. The correct and permanent fix is to replace the sliding door latch actuator and the cost is $35 to $65 for the part. This is an easy fix and attached is Part 1 of the fix I made on a YouTube video so anyone can spend about an hour and repair it themselves. Just watch all 8 videos to see the entire repair. I broke them down so even the not so handy person can easily fix the door. http://youtu.be/tCz9sriRTCc
I hope this video and the other video's in this series can help people do their own repair and save the hassle of going to the dealer or mechanic. I will be posting another video shortly on how to take the door panel off prior to the repair. You can also see Part 7 and 8 and follow these videos in reverse order to take the panel off.

Thanks for posting the solution and videos! I have a similar problem on a 2005 Odyssey and just got a quote from the dealer - $500. Following your instructions I pulled out the actuator. I was able to open the actuator unit case and found the gear that drives the actuator lever was cracked - causing it to not press down completely. So I'm pretty confident that was the problem. Only took me about 30 minutes too.
I have a new one on order for $50 including shipping, a nice savings.

It seems it's my turn to t'shoot the infamous Odyssey "Dead PSD Issue". In my case, it's the left door. All the expected whatnots are present: "Slide Door" is lit; door doesn't respond to key fob or dash buttons; door reset procedure accomplishes nothing. Fun city.
Let the trial and error troubleshooting begin!
