I had my engine check light go off on my 05 Odyssey and so I brought it to the dealership to get checked and was told that somehow one of my sparkplugs blew off the cylinder head stripping the threads breaking the coil pack and fragment parts of the plug got inside the engine damaging the cylinder head. Only offered two solutions:

1. heli-coil
2. new engine
Unfortunately I do not have any warranty left, currently waiting from American Honda to see if they can help at all. Any suggestions?

 

Welcome to the forum. Hope American Honda will help out. If you plan to keep the van, you might look into replacing the head if the piston is ok, If you have high milage replacing the engine makes more sense.
