Hissing noise on 2002 odyssey
Hi there guys,
New to the forum.
I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey EX, v6.
My question is,
When in drive mode and the RPM reaches like 2,000. I would hear this high pitch noise, as I accelerate, it gets louder. The pitch kind of goes away at 60mph, or I just don't hear it.
I checked the ac, heat, but its not that. I also replace my serpentine belt since it is time anyway, but noise still there.
If you are in park and rev the engine, the hissing noise is not there, only when you are in D mode.
And no it is not wind noise. On days that there is no wind, you can hear it way better.
Anyone have any suggestion?
Thanks,
KRLT

RE: Hissing noise on 2002 odyssey
Welcome to the forum KRLT Do you or a friend have access to a vehicle hoist that keeps the wheels free to turn, or sturdy jack stands with good chocks to jack up the drive wheel off the ground. Then you can run your engine up to rpm in gearand listen for the hissing sound. make sure your wheels are free from the ground and the chocks are infront or back of the wheels on the ground.Be very careful to not let the spinning wheel catch anything.
