A good way to observe a battery drain is to temporarily install a meter shunt between the negative battery post and the negative car cable(s). Then put a 200mv meter across the shunt. You won't be blowing ammeter fuses this way. It allows you to accurately measure amps and see trends. The voltage measured is the amperage when you apply the shunt ratio.
