Default Navigation Update Shell Game?

Hi All. I spent $99 to update our 2015 Honda Odyssey navigation system. This included a map update disc and a software update disc from Here Technologies, Honda's 3rd party supplier. I successfully installed both of them.

Ever since, the navigation system has been doing crazy things: 1) telling me that I should exit at an anonymous ramp in x miles. It does not tell me the exit no. or name of the ramp; 2) it keeps trying to force me to exit at Lee Highway on 495W and Braddock Rd. on 495S in the D.C. area, often when the correct exit is several exits ahead; and 3) it gives inaccurate directions, including taking me in circles.

So, I called HERE Technologies today for customer support as the Honda website says to do. It took three attempts before I was able to have a conversation with a human being. The human being (Ben) tells me that HERE only provides support for installation issues, not software bugs. Instead, I have to call U Connect and here is the number. Thanks Ben.

So, I call U Connect. I get Kerlin, who tells me that, despite what HERE Technologies said, U Connect does not deal with Honda vehicle navigation, which quickly ends the call.

I am now chasing my tail and decide to call Honda Customer Support. I get Jasmine. I explain the issues. She puts me on hold to check something and comes back on the line to assure me that I should be dealing with HERE Technologies. I tell her that I believe I will receive the same answer from HERE again and would appreciate speaking to her supervisor, since Honda is in the middle of all this. She tells me her supervisor is unavailable, but she will have her call me. Still waiting for that.

So, I call HERE back for a fourth time and this time I get Diane who answers the phone, "Honda Maps". I tell her my story. After a lot of condescending double-talk, I get her to clearly translate that HERE's position is that HERE only originates the maps and map update discs. The software and updates are handed to them by Honda, so Honda is responsible for any software bugs and HERE does not know how to fix software issues. However, she says that she will explain my case to whomever to see if they can resolve it. I will receive a phone call with the results. When? I have no idea. It will be interesting to see if Honda agrees with her story.

Has anyone here ever run into similar issues? Thanks!
