Default Power Steering Cooler 2012 Odyssey

The previous limited discussions on this topic are pretty old, and not relevant to my model. The manual for the 2012 does not mention or recommend a PS cooler for towing, just the ATF cooler. Did the OE cooler improve on these later models?

I have done the rest of the towing mods as recommended, but was wondering if I should also add a 3rd party PS cooler. The only reason offered for needing this is the higher RPMs that the engine runs while towing. But I routinely cruise at 75-80 mph (Texas ), so cruising at 60-65 with the trailer shouldn't be that much different, I would think.

Recommendations for a DIY after market PS cooler?

The Factory Honda Power Steering cooler should suffice for towing as well as regular driving. Just be sure to change the PS fluid as reccomended ( every 60k under SEVERE conditions ) The ATF cooler IS DEFINITELY needed if youre towing a heavy trailer.

Thanks, I presume you are talking about the original stock PS cooler that came with the vehicle. That's what I was thinking also. I have installed the recommended Honda ATF cooler.
