Default transmission not getting in gear?

2003 Honda odessey, old car , high mileage. Just suddenly, after driving and get warmed up, the car spins when increasing speed,or when like going up hill. Front wheels not turning, and revving engine goes to 5+ rpm without any response. Like no gear, but engine is running seemingly ok. Transmission oil dirty, changed new but no better results. Need to wait 1/2 hours to cool down and try running car again, before it repeats when heating upl The TCS light turn on Traction Control system, indicating front wheels not turning
Is this a transmission problem, need to replace transmission.?

welcome to the forum. if your ody has not had it transmission fluid changed normally once a year, it may have already burned up the clutches in the trans. when the fluid was changed, did the shop run a magnet to see if there were metal particles in the oil or heavy amounts of sparkling metal in the old oil. Most likely the trans is worn out. you can get a good low miles trans to replace or spend 2500+ or - to rebuild your trans. salvage yards have good low milage trans or check in ebay.
