Question Anyone good with Taxes?

Just thinking about when i got my taxes done, i had sold some Stocks i owned and got a profit of about $300. Well the lady doin my taxes deducted the 300 from my refund + the dividend ive recieved. Am i thinkin crazy or was she right? please help me out im soo confused

If I'm not mistaken, it supposed to be the profit of the stocks, less the cost is the actual income made, added to the normal income less all the deductions etc. not wack off the entire 300 as a pure profit. Unless you already claimed the cost on prior tax return. go get turbo tax, it is easier and faster and the money gets to your account via electronic transfer within a week.
