The Dealer wants to charge min $7500 to install new or refurbed tranny. I cannot justify that much. Are there any specialists that can overhaul or fix them ?
It is a crying shame because the condition of the rest of the vehicle is like brand new and it runs really well. I live in Atlanta, GA and there are at least ten used trannys available at junkyards for $300 or less but they seem to be from hi mileage vehicles and there is no "real" guarantee of them working well except for money back but the real cost is labor of removing and returning etc.
