Just purchased a 2024 Pilot EX-L that does not have a hitch. It's my understanding that a connector for a brake controller is hidden either under the dash or behind the driver's left kick panel. Even though there is not a tow package, I have been told that the brake controller connector is there, wrapped in orange tape. It's virtually impossible to get behind the kick strip to check without having to take it off. Not sure I want to do that without being certain the mysterious connector is there. Can anyone tell me with certainty that it is there before I rip the panel off (and do irreparable damage)? Door sill panel would have to come off first...

 

I think I would be asking the dealer.
