Default Change differential fluid at 16,000 miles?

I have a 2013 Pilot with 16200 miles. I went in for an oil change and my dealer tried to talk me into a rear differential fluid change for $99.00. This seems like a scam and I refused. Does Honda suggest this change?

I'm going off of the top of my head, but I recall the recommended interval for differential fluid and transmission fluid is every 30,000 miles. I did a full service fluid change (tranny and differential) at 30,000, which is what I've done for most of my vehicles. The cost ($99) sounds reasonable, but it's also reasonable to wait.

It's always advisable to follow the maintenance schedule. The rear diff fluid is to be changed at 15,000 - then at 30 - and every 30 after that. They should have explained that to you.

I would say 30k is reasonable but i wait to 50 K on all my vehicles.

If it's required at 15,000, why would you wait till 30,000, or 50,000 for that matter? Do you wait till 30,000 for your first oil change? Pay a little now, or pay for a new differential later......
