Angry PILOT PAINT - would you accept this.

hello All
we showed the paint pealing off our pilot in chunks to Honda dealer and Honda USA.
they have told us it’s our problem not theirs.

I am disgusted by Honda’s stance on this.
you pay over 50k for a limited pilot and the paint fails after 9 years.

Our pilot is a 2011 limited edition.
anyone have advice?

best .

welcome to the forum. i've seen a lot of cars and trucks that have poor paint some are covered by warranty others do not. honda pilot 2011 had its paint warranty extended for 7 yrs its too bad the paint did not fall off prior to that warranty date. Honda nor American Honda will not cover your pilots bad paint. just wondering didn't honda send you a notice prior 2018 of the paint extended warranty?

Thanks for the input. No we had no idea there was a paint warranty issue , nor did we receive anything from Honda or the dealer re the warranty.

just curious, are you still living at the same address when you purchased the 2011 pilot,. have you been taking the vehicle to honda for the first 36k. have you received any kind of brochures from the dealership to date. i purchased a 07 Fit from Palmdale honda. i also had a 100k mile warranty which i used up in 4 years of driving. i still get info on the Fit if anything happens like the master control for the windows (recall) also moved 4 times since i have owned the Fit.

My 2013 Pilot pearl white had this issue. They did not cover it at first, but about 6 months later after I would guess many complaints, they deemed it a manufacturer defect and they fixed it at no charge. Think we had around 60K miles at the time on the vehicle
