2001 Civic LX needs tranny $500 obo
Location: Northeastern Connecticut
I'm selling my good old 2001 Honda Civic LX automatic for parts or repair. The automatic transmission died in February and I discovered it would cost a minimum of $2500 to replace the transmission at a garage, and I was able to purchase the same model year car with fewer miles for less than that, so I decided not to fix it.
I bought the car in 2007 from a Dodge dealer in Stafford for $7200 and I'm the second owner. This would be a great car for someone who can fix it themselves or take off the parts to use them. It required almost no maintenance in the 7+ years I had it. I got into a front end accident at a low speed in 2013, and had a friend help me replace the part of the front frame that was damaged, the driver's side headlight, front driver's side fender, bumper, and hood with parts from Bill's Auto Parts in Tolland. The power steering was slightly damaged in the accident but still works. The radiator shifted slightly but still works. The car currently starts up but will not shift at all. You would need to tow the car away.
More specifics:
-Color: beige
-Timing belt replaced at $142k
-Front ball joints replaced in 2014
-Oil changes every 3000 miles
-New tires in 2014 (photos uploaded)
-Battery is completely dead but can be replaced free (2 year warranty with Advance Auto Parts in Willimantic)
-Interior is in bad shape
-Rust above rear tires
-Rear driver's side automatic window motor failing
-Clean title
-Carfax available upon request
Cash ONLY in person. $500 OBO.
