This car needs a new distributor assembly. Could be ECU computer which caused the distributor to fail - the computer needs to be tested as the new distributor assembly is installed.

The problem is it won't always start, or stalls and won't restart, and the idle varies quite a lot from one day to the next. It also has squeaky steering (mounts for front struts), and the speedometer doesn't work.

Si 2.0, 200K, automatic (transmission has about 130K), black exterior, tan interior, sunroof, cruise control, rust spots that were repaired last fall, otherwise runs great and is a fun sports car to drive.

Because of the starting/stalling problem, several things were recently replaced in an attempt to solve the problem until a mechanic with the right testing equipment finally diagnosed it properly. So, new fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition coil, ignition switch, tune-up (wires, spark plugs, distributer cap). Also alternator and battery.
