Which is the most waterproof hard tonneau cover?
I can't believe I just spent ~3 hours going through the forums seeking this answer. I've been able to "narrow" it down to the Extang, Backflip, Retrax, Rollbak, and even the OEM but none seems close to a perfect solution.
I understand mounting may be difficult, but as a former Ford Explorer Sport Trac owner, for the ~$1k I dropped on the original factory tonneau, I got a decade of near waterproof, "perceived" security (guess a screwdriver could pop open the locks), and great looks. Am I to understand that after 5 years, Honda still can't get it right? Really? My only complaint about the ST tonneau was how solidly it was built, bit of a challenge to remove the heavy top and store it away from the vehicle.
Requirements:
- Hard top
- Multiple points of access (ie folding/rolling)
- Nearly waterproof
- Works with bed extender
- Removable by 1 person
I'm awaiting delivery of a '11 RTL w/ navi and as much I've dumped into this truck, spending up to $1,500 for some peace of mind is well worth it.
