Default Charging system Problem

My Honda 2019 Ridgeline display shows "Charging system problem", my mechanic check the voltage of the battery 12V and charging voltage 14.2 V.
He told me to change the battery,it was only one year old and I changed the battery. Now he is telling to change the alternator. These all are very expensive for
a manlike me retired.
Do anyone in this forum can help me or guide me for the next?

Do you have a volt meter and know how to use it? No, seek an established whop that does electrical work. The shop you are at throws parts and not testing.

I have volt meter and checked the voltage. It shows 12V. We Checked the alternator and it is also good.
I took the battery to AutoZone, there they checked and gave me the printout. Voltage,Ampere and cranking all passed.

What we need to do is take a reading with the battery static, no load. While reading the volts start the car. What do the volts drop to while cranking?
