Default New Ridgeline Owner Bonehead Move

Hello, I was checking the oil on my new 2019 Ridgeline and just as I put the dipstick in, the wife called. I pulled down the hood without thinking and bent the prop rod! I bent the rod back, and all looks ok, but I'm concerned I may have damaged the slot where the rod interfaces on the hoods underskin. For my fellow owners, does this look ok? Has the slot been bent? Thanks in advance for your help.

welcome to the forum. not bonehead to error, i've bent several rods when i first got that type of hood hold open. minor bend as long as the slot holds the rod in place, leave it alone. enjoy your new ride.

Thanks for the response, I feel much better. This new Ridgeline replaces my daily driver 2003 Toyota Tacoma which I bought new. The Honda has big shoes to fill, but so far I'm very impressed.

good to hear. read your owners manual and learn every thing you can on the Ridgeline, people miss things and after the warranty is up, they find out oooppps i forgot!!. the honda dealerships no longer do a class seminar nor a decent walk around with the new owner and go thru the entire vehicle.

Sorry to hear that the dealership did not do a walk around, our dealership was very thorough.
