Ridgeline ground clearance/ radiator
Hi all. I am considering getting a used Ridgeline as my next vehicle. i am weighing the pros and cons of it vs the Toyota Tacoma. I know the Ridgeline’s ground clearance is lower than the Tacoma by about 2 inches. It’s not a deal breaker as I don’t do a lot of heavy off roaring but I had an unfortunate ground clearance incident with my current car, a GMC Acadia, and I wanted to find out if this could be a factor with a Ridgeline.
The incident happened when I pulled my Acadia into a parking spot with a concrete curb stop. As I pulled in I accidentally pulled over the curb stop too far and heard a crunch which was my radiator. The Acadia’s ground clearance is 7.2 inches and evidently the radiator is equally low. The incident resulted in a $600 radiator replacement.
I know this was a freak accident that has never happened in my 30+ years of driving and probably won’t happen again but it made me wonder about how low the radiator on the Ridgeline is? Considering Honda designs tend to be smarter than many American cars I would think it wouldn’t be an issue but I was curious if anyone here might know the clearance of their radiator?
