HISS or Ignition problem?
Hi All
Struggling a bit here with a 2015 VFR1200X I picked up. I had an intermittent cut out problem that seemed electrical.. but so momentary the bike would usually bump start itself..it'd certainly start immediately on the button. Its developed a bit to a no start condition very occasionally which, as I then have no helmet on, I can hear that the fuel pump doesn't cycle. I've checked the fuel relay and there's no earth return on the Brown (ish) control side wire that I believe goes to the ECM..although I cant see it AT the ECM. I f i bridge it to earth the pump runs continuously. (I have sidestand switch bridged and Bank angle sensor bridged but they only affect the stop relay and that's working as it should)
This leads me to wonder if its the HISS immobiliser causing my problems. Cant check if ignition is dead then too as this is also affected by HISS. The wiring diagram I have is way too small and packed for me to check if that Brown goes direct to the ECM so my question(s) Is there anything between the control side of the fuel relay and ECM? and Has anyone experience with HISS that I can use to check...I had a moment when reaching down to the wiring by the ignition barrel caused the fault to come/go..I think this may have been a red herring and I currently have no fuel pump activation at all . Also does the fuel pump work all the time in usual operation, as it only pumps and stops initially when ignition is turned on, if I bridge the relay it will pump continuously..does it have a demand switch for pressure when needed?
Sorry for the long story but hoping theres some experienced people out there that can help.
Cheers
