Default 08 CRV - noise at 40 mph

Just got my 08 CRV serviced - 25k mile service. had tires rotated and oil changed, etc....

however, now when i drive 40 mph, it makes a loud noise. Like i'm driving with large tires or something. Only happens around 38-42 mph and when i slow down from 5 mph to 0 mph.

took it back to the dealer and they said that it was uneven treading...and that the reason i hear it now is because the tires were in the back and now they're in the front. they wouldn't do anything about it. said that i could get it aligned but it might do a thing.

anyone ever experience this? Should i get my tires balanced? the noise is driving me nuts.

Thanks,

welcome to the forum. doing a wheel alignment will not help the tire noise. If you check the tire thread, you will notice cupping on the edges or uneven surface. This will happen to the other set of tires unless the wheel alighment is done. But in the mean time, the noise will remain for a while. Unless you change the tires back to original position. or get yourself a nother set of tires 2 in the front that make noise. ( bit of a waste of money unless you cannot stand the noise and need to get new tires ) I have had this happen to me several times. I forgot to rotate my tires at each 5k and did not do the yearly wheel alighment.

Thanks! Is this damaging to the car at all? or is this just an issue with the tires? If i can bear with the noise, is there any issues i need to be aware of?
Do you know why the tires would be cupping? is this due to driving on uneven surfaces etc? We've been very good at rotating our tires.

Thanks for all your help.

tires issure starts when alighnment is not done. Honda does not do a wheel alighnment out of the factory. needs to be done about once a year. damage is to the tires only, not the car. tire issue only. watch the ware of the tires. cupping due to alighnment out. how many times have you had an alighnment done to the cr-v.
