Default 1997 CRV with ABS: brake pulsing at low speeds just before stopping

- Problem has been active for a few weeks
- Occurrs on dry asphalt going less than 10 MPH while braking gentally and no grinding noise heard
- ABS warning light NOT on when it occurss (light is on momentarily when car is started)
- Front rotors and pads replaced
- Front caliper pins lubricated and move freely
- Rear brake shoes ok, not worn

What can I do to find the problem or deactivate the ABS and keep the warning light off? If expensive new parts are required, I’d prefer to simply deactivate the ABS.

Thanks

You can warp a rotor by heating them up and going through rain puddles, not uncommon.

thanks bucwheat, but the rotors are not warped. I'm sure the pulsing is abs related. I pulled the abs fuse and problem solved, but now the light is on...

Although if it were me I would take it to a Honda dealer to get it fixed, but if you want to stop the light until you have the money simply pull the gauges out and disconnect the little light, you may want to take a picture of the front to be easier to locate the bulb from the back.Good luck.
