Cool 2000 CR-V Rotor problem, need help

I was tuning up the ole CR-V, got the plugs in and rewired and took the cap off and realized that my tune up kit had the rotor too, I finally figured out that there's a screw cause I read a thread, but it was facing the bottom, so instead of turning the engine over til it was facing up before undoing everything I just broke all the plastic off til I could get the plastic cover with a spring off and see the screw facing down. I then commenced to strip it a little and have no clue what to do now, can I turn the engine over until it is facing up or will it harm the engine to do this being their is no cap on or will it even turn, thanks
